The client, an international sports governing body, commissioned Futures to deliver broadcast valuation for all their global events for the upcoming eight year rights cycle, and develop an interactive model to aid decision-making.
We used ViewerTrack to source consistent and accurate global viewership data on past events. Using our global IPG network we also sourced comprehensive data on media and macro-economic factors that affect value.
This data was analysed using econometrics to find drivers of viewership on a market by market basis, and allow robust prediction of future value. An interactive dashboard allowed the client to interrogate the data and build strong understanding of how value would change under all potential scenarios.
The strategic management tool has enabled to the client to consider how value will change under all scenarios, understand the trade-offs between broadcast rights value and other commercial and sporting factors, and negotiate effectively with broadcasters.
